Tickets on sale now for Michael Jackson tribute coming to Port Angeles on May 10

PORT ANGELES — Tickets are on sale for a Michael Jackson tribute concert planned in May.

Michael Knight of Salem, Ore., will perform Jackson’s songs and moves in “Unbreakable” — a concert with live music, backup singers and dancers — at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 10.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., and Knight will host a meet-and-greet after the show, said Cindy Kochanek of the city Parks and Recreation Department.

Tickets are $15. Advance tickets are on sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the Vern Burton center.

The goal is to raise $8,250 for the general fund for the Youth and Family program, which serves children 5 to 12 years old, said Kochanek.

Knight became fascinated with Jackson when he was 14 and since has studied the late pop star’s performances, learning to copy his moves and his voice.

He has performed Jackson tributes across the U.S.

The concert will be appropriate for any age, Kochanek said.
