State GOP chair to speak at Peninsula Lincoln Day events

Kirby Wilbur, chairman of the state Republican Party, will be featured at Lincoln Day events on two consecutive weekends on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Jefferson County Republicans will meet for their annual Lincoln Day Luncheon this coming Saturday, while Clallam County Republicans will host a Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday, April 27.

This Saturday’s Lincoln Day luncheon will be at the Port Townsend Elks Club at 555 Otto St.

It will begin at 11 a.m. with a social hour and silent auction. At noon, the Pledge of Allegiance and an invocation will precede the lunch and speakers.

The cost of the luncheon, which will feature wild salmon or grilled sesame chicken, is $40 per person or $75 for a couple. Attendees are asked to prepay or make reservations.

Wilbur will serve as master of ceremonies.

Scheduled guests and speakers from state and local Republican parties will be Luanne Van Werven, vice chairwoman of the state Republican Party; Dani Bolyard, past chairwoman of the Grant County Republicans; and Chris Tibbs, chairman of the Kitsap County Republicans.

Representatives to the Republican National Committee — Fredi Simpson, state committeewoman, and Jeff Kent, state committeeman — will attend and report on national Republican politics.

Attendees should make reservations by email at gop@broadstripe.net or by phone to 360-343-4041.

The Clallam County GOP Lincoln Day dinner and silent auction on April 27 will begin at the Red Lion Hotel at 5 p.m. with a no-host bar and silent auction.

Dinner — roast beef or saffron chicken — will start at 6 p.m.

Wilbur will be the guest speaker.

Tickets are $50 except for head table tickets, which are $100.

Last-minute tickets available at the door will be very limited so attendees are asked to RSVP and pay in advance.

To volunteer to help or to provide auction items, phone 360-457-1672.
