EDITOR’S NOTE— The duration of Friday’s planned power outage has been corrected from what was stated originally. The outage will be for four hours.
Two electrical outages are scheduled in the West End, with the first planned for Friday.
The Clallam County Public Utility District has scheduled the outages for maintenance work, said spokesman Michael Howe. Crews hope to get the work done before the start of school in September.
Friday’s outage will be from midnight to 4 a.m. for customers in LaPush, areas south of Forks and those between Lake Crescent and Forks.
A seven-hour outage is set from 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, to 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28. This outage will affect customers east of Sappho and from Burnt Mountain Road to Lake Crescent.
Free concerts set
PORT ANGELES — The players in Deborah Morgan-Ellis’ Summer Workshop for young string musicians will give free concerts this Friday and next Friday, Aug. 28, at First United Methodist Church, 110 E. Seventh St.
The performances will start at 10 a.m. both Fridays, and all music lovers are welcome.
The students, who range from age 5 to 14, are divided by ability into ensembles during the Aug. 17-28 Summer Workshop.
The program’s teachers include veteran conductor Phil Morgan-Ellis and a team of high school- and college-age musicians who are alumni of the workshop.
