The three Jefferson County commissioners will open bids for the repair of Undi Road when they meet Monday.
The bid opening will be at 10:15 a.m. after the meeting begins at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
Slide activity has severely damaged the roadway, threatening resident access.
The project is intended to create an alternate route that entails using 1.3 miles of existing state Department of Natural Resources road and another 0.9 miles of steep terrain construction.
The engineer’s estimate is $926,150. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will pay for $209,000.
Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at 10 a.m. on Conservation Futures funding applications.
Items on the consent agenda include:
â– An agreement to provide demolition, removal and decommissioning of all structures located on two floodplains on the Duckabush and Big Quilcene rivers, in the amount of $1,352.
â– An agreement to allocate an additional $7,340 for a total of $933,110 to Jefferson County Public Health and the state Department of Health.
â– An agreement to allocate an additional amount of $6,206 for a total of $138,491 to Jefferson County Public Health and Skookum Corp.
â– An agreement to allocate $7,003 for Human Growth and Development HIV/AIDS Education to Jefferson County Public Health and the Chimacum School District.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will review city boards and committees in light of the Three-Year Strategic Plan at a workshop Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The Three-Year Strategic Plan was approved in June.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Also set this week is a meeting of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
It will meet from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday in the third-floor conference room at City Hall, 250 Madison St.
Port Townsend ÂPlanning ÂCommission
The Port Townsend Planning commission will discuss code revision for short-term rentals, vacation rentals and transient accommodations when it meets Thursday.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Flood hazard zones
Revised flood hazard zone maps will be presented at a meeting Tuesday.
The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Quilcene School District office at 294715 U.S. Highway 101.

FEMA has revised select maps that identify flood hazard zones within Jefferson County, including areas within the city limits of Port Townsend.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2016-17 budget before considering its approval when it meets Monday.
The public hearing will be at 5 p.m. The regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Both will be in the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.
The proposed general fund budget is $15,439,211.
The board also will consider adopting Bridges in Mathematics for kindergarten through fifth grade.
It will consider accepting the resignations of Nick Snyder, head coach of the Blue Heron wrestling team and assistant coach of the high school wrestling team, and of Ryann McChesney, assistant girls soccer coach.
Port of Port Townsend
The Port of Port Townsend commissioners will consider a draft budget schedule at a meeting Wednesday.
The meeting begins at 1 p.m. in chambers, 333 Benedict St.
It will be preceded by a workshop meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the same location with a discussion about capital projects.
