Emblem3 band member returns to Sequim as part of solo tour

SEQUIM — They’ve played in Seattle and worldwide, and now a portion of the band Emblem3 returns to Sequim for an intimate show.

Wesley Stromberg continues his solo tour at the Big Barn Farm, 702 Kitchen-Dick Road, at 5 this evening.

And, according to rumors, he might be joined on stage by a second member of Emblem3 during the show for a surprise performance.

Sequim musician Dillon Liebert is slated to open for Stromberg.

Stromberg, who grew up in Sequim with brother Keaton and fellow bandmate Drew Chadwick, said he’s looking forward to seeing familiar faces at the show.

“Growing up in Sequim was absolutely amazing,” he said. “I’m so thankful for the person the town helped me become.

“I always had a dream of traveling the world and performing my music, and I’m lucky to have found the strength to not give up and turn it into a reality. I’m excited to bring some of this adventure home.”

Spencer Sutherland and Liebert open the show, which costs $15 for general admission, $55 for a meet-and-greet and $130 for a VIP crew pass.

Tickets are all-ages and available through www.wesleyofficial.com. Parking will be available at King’s Way Foursquare Church, 1023 Kitchen-Dick Road.

Stromberg hasn’t performed in Sequim for more than 10 years since he was in the band American Scholars. Chadwick performed in Sequim for the Air Affaire in September 2015.

For the show, Stromberg will perform Emblem3 songs, covers and new music, and said via a Facebook interview he remains in Emblem3 and sees the tour as a “chance to take a departure from everything I’ve done in the past and a step toward something great.”

Justin Ridle, who co-owns the barn venue, said close friends contacted him about the show after Stromberg and his family decided to pursue the idea of a hometown show.

“I am excited,” Ridle said. “This is one of those things I don’t want to say no to … It feels like a special homecoming.”

Ridle said his goal is to make the barn more event-friendly to host similar events in the future while maintaining a working barn.

Emblem3 rose to national attention by placing fourth in 2012 on the show “The X-Factor” and released its debut album “Nothing to Lose” in 2013. They’ve gone on several national and world tours. Stromberg finishes his solo tour Dec. 3 at Portland, Ore.’s Hawthorne Theater.
