Clallam WSU Extension to present family-forest lands seminar Oct. 11

SEQUIM — The Clallam County WSU Extension will sponsor an all-day workshop of the stewardship of family forested lands at the Gardiner Community Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.

Individuals and families who manage or own land with trees are invited to attend. The cost is $10 per family.

The agenda will open with a brief overview of the coached stewardship planning programs.

Attendees will be introduced to the different components of a dynamic family forestry stewardship plan and the resources that are available to help develop and implement the plan.

Meet representatives

They will have the opportunity to meet representatives of agencies and organizations that work on forested lands.

A presentation on basic land management skills will be given by Ken Bevis, a state Department of Natural Resources wildlife specialist.

The afternoon session will include a field trip to see different basic forestry practices that can be used on family forest lands in Western Washington.
