The Home Instead Senior Care office serving Clallam and Jefferson counties is launching a new campaign designed to make the community more Alzheimer’s-friendly.
Through the Alzheimer’s Friendly Business SM program, the Home Instead Senior Care office will provide free training to local businesses to help equip employees with information and resources needed to welcome families who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s.
Local businesses can work directly with the local Home Instead Senior Care office to coordinate an in-person training.

Symphony program donation
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Symphony’s Adventures in Music school project has been given $2,000 by the U.S. Bank Foundation as part of the bank’s local contributions program.
Adventures in Music is a collaborative project of the Port Angeles Symphony with Clallam County school districts and with three schools in Jefferson County — the elementary school in Quilcene and two schools in Chimacum.
It provides live performing arts programs during the school year along with supporting curriculum materials provided to teachers that offer lesson plans and suggestions for integrating arts into other curriculum areas.
Lisa Meyer, assistant vice president and branch manager of the Port Angeles U.S. Bank branch, was instrumental in obtaining this contribution for the symphony, according to a news release.
Mark Wendeborn, symphony executive director, said:
“U.S. Bank has partnered with the orchestra for this important program since 1998.
“This is a remarkable commitment to the communities they serve.”
