Port Angeles Food Bank to host bar crawl fundraiser

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Food Bank will sponsor Barkour, its Memorial Day weekend pub crawl fundraiser, at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The fundraiser will begin at The New Moon Craft Tavern, 130 S. Lincoln St., and will progress through Angeles Brewing, 116 N. Lincoln St., and the Roosevelt, 115 E. Railroad Ave., before ending at Barhop, 124 W. Railroad Ave.

Tickets, which are $60 per person, cover a drink at each location and are available at https://secure.givelively.org/event/port-angeles-food-bank/barkour-2024.

Barkour is a word play on the sport of parkour, which involves moving rapidly through urban areas using the most direct route possible, even when that requires negotiating obstacles such as walls, fences or railings.

The opening chase scene in the 2006 James Bond film “Casino Royale” is an extreme example of the sport.

Proceeds benefit the Port Angeles Food Bank, which distributes more than 1 million pounds of food annually.
