Steampunk Festival to celebrate 10th anniversary this weekend

PORT TOWNSEND — The 10th Steampunk Festival will return to Port Townsend on Friday at various venues downtown.

The theme for the three-day annual festival, “Monsters & Monster Hunters,” will see the various factions: Outcasts, Aetherists, Pirates and Cogs, join forces against a dark and mysterious enemy.

Tickets are $90 for event membership and $115 for event membership and admission to Saturday’s Hootenanny.

Tickets cover admission to the Den of Iniquities, the Brass Screw faction shenanigans, the Fashion Show and the Bodgers’ Grand Exhibition.

Tickets can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com and must be picked up at Brass Screw High Command in the Cotton Building, 607 Water St.

Visitors also will enjoy the Absinthe Tent; Bodger Hall, a swap meet and makers’ extravaganza; a scavenger hunt for children; an adult treasure hunt; and the Steampunk Scrapyard.

Live music will include Hot Damned Scandal on Friday at the Den of Iniquities; Nathanial Johnstone Band and Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers,” on Saturday at the Hootenanny; and, at the Boat Bar, Dogwood, the Plastic Paddies, the Scuppermonkeys and Sound and Fury Morris.
