PORT ANGELES — The Sequim girls bowling team used consistent individual scores to beat Port Angeles at Laurel Lanes on Monday.
The Wolves put up their best scores of the season — 689 and 684 pins — during the team games.
Port Angeles’ Zoey Van Gordon did her best to bolster the Roughriders with a season-high two-game total of 337, including a 202 game.
“Zoey was in control of her games today. Only leaving two open frames in game one was impressive,” Port Angeles coach Becky Gundersen said.
Sequim, meanwhile, was led by Victoria Nava with a 313 (147, 166) and Skyler Kryzworz with a 301 (145, 156). The Wolves had a balanced attack with five bowlers posting scores above 240.
For Sequim, Cooper Hiatt rolled a 263 (127-136), Kimberly Heintz a 254 (134-120) and Keira Morey a 242 (136-106).
Contributing to the Riders’ effort were Xoey Penn with a 280, Brooklyn McKnight with a 272 and freshman Lucy Townsend with a 270.
The Riders also earned their two points by taking both Bakers, recording their highest score of the season with a 155.
Port Angeles (1-8) hosts North Mason (4-3) at 2:45 p.m. Thursday while Sequim (3-5) travels to Klahowya on Thursday.
