PORT TOWNSEND — Kitchens Port Townsend Style, a self-guided tour of eight innovative residential kitchens, is Saturday.
Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., visitors can explore kitchens that reflect recent trends in kitchen design.
Tickets, which are $20, can be purchased Saturday at the hospitality center at the Presbyterian Church, 1111 Franklin St., which will be open at 9:30 a.m.
They are available in advance through today at Chimacum Corner Farmstand, 9122 Rhody Drive; Dana Pointe Interiors, 62 Village Way in Port Ludlow; The Green Eyeshade, 720 Water St., Port Townsend; Quimper Mercantile Co., 1121 Water St., Port Townsend; and What’s Cookin’, 844 Water St., Port Townsend; Over the Fence, 112 E. Washington St., Sequim; Fiddleheads, 126 W. First St., Port Angeles; and Swain’s General Store, 602 E. First St. in Port Angeles.
At the hospitality center on the day of the tour, visitors can pick up passports for directions and descriptions of each kitchen.
Raffle baskets will be displayed, raffle tickets will be for sale and free refreshments will be offered.
A kitchen design seminar will be offered the morning of the tour.
The tour is the 19th annual tour sponsored by the American Association of American University Women-Port Townsend and its philanthropic arm, the University Women’s Foundation of Jefferson County.
New and remodeled
The kitchens selected for the tour are a mixture of new construction and remodels.
“The kitchens are beautifully designed and built with expert craftsmanship,” said Grace Roe, publicity chairwoman.
“Great rooms, designed adjacent to many kitchens, reflect [the] importance of friend and family gatherings to [an] area residence.
“They reflect recent improvements and trends in kitchen design — a wonderful opportunity to gain remodel and new construction ideas.”
Several homeowners will provide contact information for area architects, designers and contractors they recommend.
Proceeds will support scholarships and educational programs in Chimacum, Port Townsend and Quilcene school districts in East Jefferson County.
