FORKS — Work crews for the state Department of Transportation will unload girders for the new U.S. Highway 101 bridge across May Creek from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.
Drivers can expect intermittent closures of Highway 101 and Dowans Creek Road near the Jefferson/Clallam county line south of Forks, WSDOT said.
There will be five traffic stops of up to 30 minutes each throughout the day, WSDOT said.
Traffic will be stopped in both directions to allow cranes to transfer the 175-foot-long girders from semi-trucks onto the new bridge.
The new bridge will replace a culvert under the highway that is blocking fish migration.
