SEQUIM — One person was transported to a Seattle hospital following a two-car collision at U.S. Highway 101 and Guiles Road east of Sequim, Clallam County Fire District 3 reported.
The highway was blocked in both directions while fire crews were on scene, the fire district said in a press release.
A small SUV was struck from behind by a box truck about 5:43 a.m., the fire district said.
The unidentified driver of the SUV was extricated and transported to the Sequim Emergency Helistop, where they were flown to Harborview Medical Center, the fire district said.
The sole occupant of the box truck reported no injuries and denied further evaluation on the scene, the fire district said.
Washington State Patrol controlled traffic and was investigating the collision, the fire district said.
