PORT ANGELES — One person was transported to a hospital after they were extricated from their vehicle on Deer Park Road.
Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue responded to a single-vehicle collision at 1:49 a.m. Tuesday after a car hit a tree at about the 6-mile mark on Deer Park Road, the fire district stated in a press release.
When first responders arrived, they found a vehicle off the road with one person entrapped and requiring extensive extrication, the fire district said.
Once the person was removed from the vehicle, they were transported by Olympic Ambulance to a local emergency department and later transferred to a trauma center, the fire district said.
Life flight was requested but unable to respond due to unfavorable weather conditions, the fire district said.
Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue responded with one engine, one squad, and one aid car. Mutual aid was provided by the Port Angeles Fire Department, which responded with one engine and one duty chief, and Olympic Ambulance responded with a medic unit.
In total, there were 11 personnel from three agencies, the fire district said.
