Jefferson voters mail back 26 percent of ballots

PORT ANGELES — Voters in Jefferson County had returned 5,958 primary ballots, or 26 percent, of the 22,871 mailed to registered voters as of Tuesday, election officials said.

That total includes 571 that arrived Tuesday.

In Clallam County, 9,448 primary ballots, or 20 percent, of the 47,132 mailed had been returned, County Auditor Patty Rosand said.

Ballots must be postmarked for the all-mail primary by next Tuesday.

Ballots can also be dropped off by 8 p.m. that day at one of the following locations:

■ Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

■ Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave., Port Hadlock.

All registered voters should now have a ballot.

No undeliverable ballots were among those returned Tuesday, voter registration Director Sandi Eldridge said.
