Jefferson County home show set for Saturday

PORT TOWNSEND — The Home Show sponsored by the Jefferson County Homebuilders Association will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Blue Heron Middle School, 3939 San Juan Ave. in Port Townsend.

In addition to vendors, there will be presentations in two rooms.

The schedule is as follows:

Band Room

• 9:30 a.m.: “Estate Planning: Building a garden that ages with you,” with Doug Cockburn of New Dungeness Nursery in Sequim.

• 10:45 a.m. to noon: “Shaping the Future: Solar Power Innovations and Sustainability in 2025,” with Andy Cochrane of PowerTrip Energy.

• 12:15 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Briefing.

• 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.: “Upgrade Your Life with Clean Energy,” with Krista Myers of Frederickson Electric.

• 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: “Ciscoe Morris: Tips for the Spring Garden,” plus Q&A, followed by a book signing.

Second Room

• 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.: “Homeowner Septic System Know-how,” with DJ Campbell and Amanda Grace of Good Man Sanitation.

• 11 a.m. to noon: “Unlock the Path to Homeownership: Down Payment,” with Dietrich Schmitz of the state Housing Finance Commission.

• 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.: “Composting 101: Turning Wastei into Rich Soil for a Greener Home,” with Bridget Gregg of Washington State University.

• 1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m.: “Housing Briefing: Bayside, Habitat, Olympic Housing Trust and OlyCAP.
