Jefferson commissioner to speak at Studium Generale East

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County commissioner Kate Dean will present “Small Town Politics in Uncertain Times: A Retrospective” at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Dean’s presentation will kick off a new season of Studium Generale East at Peninsula College’s Port Townsend campus, 202 Eisenhower Ave. on Fort Worden.

Dean will reflect on her experiences on the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners for the past eight years and what today’s election might mean for the county.

Future speakers in the monthly lecture series include Lisa Meersman in December, Dunia Faulx in January, Scott Wilson in February, Maria Coryell-Martin in March, Gabe Van Lelyveld in April, Rico Quirindongo in May and Jere Canote in June.

All of the free presentations will occur on the first Thursday of the month except for Faulx, who will present on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
