Hurricane Ridge Road from Port Angeles into Olympic National Park remained closed Thursday after more snow fell Wednesday night — and snow is expected soon in populated areas.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Hood Canal.
The advisory will last from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today along the Strait and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. along Hood Canal.
A trace of snow to 3 inches is forecast today for the lowlands along the Strait, with greater accumulations above 500 feet.
Up to 1 inch of snow is forecast today for the lowlands along Hood Canal with up to 4 inches above 500 feet.
A chance of snow is also forecast for the Peninsula on Saturday.
Hurricane Ridge now has 14 inches total, according to Olympic National Park officials.
The storm dropped 10 inches to 20 inches of snow Wednesday on the state’s mountains, the National Weather Service said.
Forecasters say low temperatures in Western Washington will drop to the 20s and 30s into early next week.
Forecasters say it will be colder in Eastern Washington, with lows in the 20s and teens into early next week.
