The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an ordinance establishing interim zoning controls for producing, processing and retail sales of legalized recreational marijuana Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners held a public hearing on the proposed ordinance last Tuesday.
Other agenda items for the weekly business meeting include:
â– A proclamation recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
â– A contract amendment with the state Department of Health for grants and programs.
â– An agreement with the Sequim School District for transition program training.
â– Contract amendments with West End Outreach Services, Reflections Counseling Services Group, Lutheran Community Services NW and True Star Behavioral Health Services to provide new and updated Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery language.
â– A contract amendment with Tetra Tech extending an expiration date.
â– A bid opening for improvements to Old Olympic Highway from U.S. Highway 101 to Sieberts Creek bridge.
â– A bid opening for an interpretive gateway center.
â– A call for bids due Oct. 21 for veterans center improvements.
â– A resolution adopting a budget reduction.
â– A resolution adopting supplemental appropriations.
â– A public hearing on a proposed resolution adopting debatable budget emergencies.
â– A public hearing on a proposed ordinance amending the comprehensive plan map and zoning map.
Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday for their weekly work session to discuss several action items.
Sequim city, schools
The Sequim City Council will discuss a proposed $37.9 million budget for 2015 at a study session before a joint meeting with the Sequim School Board on Monday.
The study session will be at 5 p.m. at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
At 6 p.m., the council and School Board will discuss potential cooperation and the school capital bond proposal.
The city manager’s proposed 2015 budget projects relatively flat revenues and expenditures, with each department asked to cut by 3 percent.
The major capital project of 2015 will be the completion of the $13.8 million civic center.
The council is expected to review the budget proposal Oct. 13 and 27, conduct a public hearing Nov. 10 and consider adoption Nov. 24.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will hear an update on district power supply activities when they meet Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Port Angeles main office, 2431 E. U.S. Highway 101.
Commissioners will hear about the upcoming Bonneville Power Administration rate case, the Energy Independence Act and a power supply contract.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will conduct a community forum to take public input on a 2015-17 strategic plan Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the lower conference area of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
The board also will consider design fees and scope for the Port Angeles medical office building, a compliance update, hospitalist employment agreement and medical staff credentials report.
Planning Commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will discuss the Board of County Commissioners’ public hearing on interim zoning controls for marijuana businesses and next steps Wednesday.
The work session will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse.
