PORT ANGELES — The city of Port Angeles will apply sealant to the road surfaces on the Eighth Street bridges next week.
Both bridges will be closed from 6 a.m. Monday until Friday, June 6 for the application and to allow time for the sealant to cure, according to a news flash on the city’s website.
Detour routes will be marked and the sidewalks will remain open during the project.
The sealant application will prevent water intrusion and extend the service life of the bridge decks.
This work is part of a larger project to repave Eighth Street, reconfigure the road markings to provide bike lanes on each side of the road and upgrade pedestrian pathways to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards
