PORT TOWNSEND – A draft environmental-impact statement for a 250-acre golf course resort planned for the Brinnon area will be presented to a county committee during a public meeting Sept. 11.
The document on the proposed Pleasant Harbor Marina and Golf Resort will be shown to the Jefferson County Planning Commission’s master planned resort committee at 7 p.m. at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101.
No action will be taken.
The resort, proposed by Statesman Group of Cos. Ltd., and Black Point Properties LLC, would consist of a marina with 290 slips, a resort hotel and rental units, allowing up to 890 units.
It would also include an expansion of the marina village facilities at Pleasant Harbor and an 18-hole golf course with conference, food service and meeting capabilities.
The draft environmental-impact statement looks at potential affects of the development on shellfish, water quality, transportation, public services, shorelines, fish and wildlife, the rural character of the area, archaeological and cultural sites and critical environmental areas.
The draft statement will be presented by Stacie Hoskins of the county Department of Community Development and Sandy Mackie, legal counsel for the Statesman Group.
The proposed resort also will be discussed at master planned resort committee meetings Sept. 18 and 25 at the Brinnon Community Center.
A public hearing on the resort is planned before the county Planning Commission in Brinnon on Oct. 3.
Public comments on the proposal are due by Oct. 24.
