BLYN — Interfor US, Inc., has been awarded the Clallam Economic Development Council Business of the Year award.
Tyril Spence and Chandra McGoff, members of the company’s management team, accepted the award at the EDC’s 2022 Annual Gala Meeting at 7 Cedars Hotel & Casino on March 18.
Lorie Fazio, Clallam EDC’s business relationship manager, presented the EDC’s Annual 2021 Champion Awards, which were sponsored by Cherie Kidd of AAA Affordable Storage..
Nonprofit of the Year Award went to the Shore Aquatic Center, accepted by Executive Director Steve Burke.
The 19th Annual Olympic Leader Award was awarded to Marc Abshire, executive director of the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce.
The theme of the event was “Celebrating the Heart of Community.”
The keynote address was presented by Bob Donegan, president of Ivar’s Restaurants, now in its 85th year. He was accompanied by his wife, Lisa.
In his address, he reviewed the 12 defining attributes the company uses for employee retention and the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction even through COVID-19.
He donated $15 Gift Cards to all the attendees.
The State of the Council was presented by the Clallam EDC Board Secretary Jennifer Burkhardt, followed by Executive Director Colleen’s McAleer’s Sponsor Recognitions.
Dr. Michael Maxwell from North Olympic Healthcare Network officiated over the installation of the 2022 Clallam County EDC board of directors.
The Clallam EDC executive board is Michael McQuay, chair; Terry Ward, vice chair; Jennifer Burkhardt, secretary; and Christy Nutter, treasurer.
Board members for 2022 are Andra Smith, Cherie Kidd, Colleen Robinson, Edna Petersen, Luke Robins, Marc Abshire, Meg Pinza, Melene Bourm, Perry Knudson, W. Joe Allen, Bud Denney, Rebekah Miller, Todd Feinstein, Caleb McMahon, Jim Waddell, Randy Johnson and William Armacost.
The gala’s platinum sponsor was First Fed Bank.
