LETTER:Not true

Having received my Clallam County Voters Pamphlet in the mail I was not surprised, but a bit dismayed, at some of the statements made by candidates.

I encourage everyone who intends to vote in the Aug. 1 election to do their own fact checking of the candidates’ statements.

Stan McClain, who is running for Clallam County commissioner against Commissioner Mark Ozias, makes several inaccurate statements about SB 5599, which he obviously has never read.

John Graham, running for Sequim School District, falsely states our schools are teaching “CRT and ‘woke’ policies.”

Not one single school in Washington teaches critical race theory, a topic reserved for graduate level college curricula.

Both of these candidates obviously looked for inflammatory rhetoric for their statements rather than to address real issues.

As voters, lets use our ability to see past these smokescreens and vote for candidates who have a grasp of what it means to serve in public office.
