I want to express my support for Nina Napiontek, who is running for Port Angeles city council, position 6.
As a native of Port Angeles, Nina has strong roots in our community that go back generations.
She understands at a deep level the challenges facing our city because she lives and observes them every day.
Napiontek will bring a thoughtful and inclusive approach to the challenges of homelessness, the housing shortage, the opioid epidemic and job creation.
Since I have come to know her, she has impressed me with her intelligence and her common sense.
I am especially struck by her willingness to get down in the trenches to find practical solutions for our unique community that are grounded in daily reality, not ideological theory.
This includes a cautious approach to new taxes and proposed ordinance revisions.
As a working mother, Nina will be a true advocate for working families in Port Angeles, a voice sorely needed on the city council.
As a careful listener, she will also be an advocate for collaboration for the benefit of all citizens.
I urge the residents of Port Angeles to cast their votes for Nina Napiontek for Port Angeles city council.
