LETTER: Biological differences

In the realm of biology vs. gender ideology, there is momentum toward sanity that we all must help potentiate.

Recently a federal court in Kentucky blocked the current administration’s misogynistic changes to Title IX, thereby restoring the integrity of women’s sports and returning equal opportunity to biological females.

Here in Washington, the Lynden, Blaine, Brewster, Cashmere, Colville, Grand Coulee Dam, Lake Chelan, Lynden Christian, Mansfield, Mead, Okanogan, Omak, Oroville, Tonasket, Eastmont, Cashmere, Colville, Moses Lake and Thorp school districts have submitted two amendments to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA.)

These amendments, particularly No. 7, “Participation in girls’ sports would be limited to students assigned female at birth,” would be another step toward reassuring that, once again, biological females are guaranteed the right to equal, fair and safe competition.

Please email WIAA Executive Director Mick Hoffman at mhoffman@wiaa.com and implore him to support amendments 7 and 8.

While you’re at it, email Port Angeles School District Superintendent Marty Brewer at mbrewer@portangelesschools.org and Athletic Director Dwayne Johnson at dwjohnson@portangelesschools.org, and urge them to do the same.

It’s unfortunate that the PASD is not among the school districts listed above.

Adults need to stand up, speak out for what is right and not let their empathy be weaponized against them.

It is compassionate, not bigoted, to stand up for girls and women to defend the fact that women and men are different.

Our daughters should no longer have to sit down, be quiet, be nice and take the loss.
