SEQUIM — The Olympic Theatre Arts Center is seeking auxiliary actors for a Shakespearean Renaissance Faire scheduled Aug. 21-22.
Prospective actors are asked to contact the arts center by July 19 at office@olympictheatrearts.org or 360-683-7326.
“Huzzah!,” reads a press release from OTA. “To announce the return to normal life, Queen Elizabeth has summoned the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, her chartered company of actors led by Master William Shakespeare to present a command performance to signal the opening of the theaters again.”
The show will be OTA’s inaugural outdoor Renaissance Faire fundraiser.
Volunteer auxiliary/atmospheric actors for mingling with the commoners (guests) to provide an authentic Renaissance Faire experience are needed.
OTA is calling for all Beefeaters, wenches, pages, game and card players, as well as a flute player, face painters and a crystal ball reader.
The games will be from the Renaissance Era and will be taught beforehand.
No acting experience is necessary, “but a keen interest in having frolicing fun is a must,” OTA siad.
