Stage performances, the Second Saturday Art Walk and a Port Angeles Symphony concert highlight this weekend’s events on the North Olympic Peninsula.
• “Rented Christmas” will continue its run with shows at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and matinees at 2 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 22 at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave. in Sequim.
Tickets are $20 per person, $15 for students at www.olympictheatrearts.org or at the door.
“The Rented Christmas,” written by Norman and Yvonne Ahearn, tells the story of John Dale, a man who has not had a good Christmas since his parents died years before.
When Dale rents a Christmas from Anne Weston’s rental shop, his housekeeper and cook help Weston to gather local orphans and create a nostalgic Christmas, bringing joy that money cannot buy.
• Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra will perform its holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Port Angeles High School’s Performing Arts Center, 304 E. Park Ave., Port Angeles.
The public also is invited to the orchestra’s dress rehearsal at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Tickets to the evening performance are $15 to $40. Admission to the rehearsal is $10 with youths younger than 18 admitted free with a ticketed patron.

The guest soloist, Venezuelan-born cellist Gregorio Nieto, will play during Tchaikovsky’s “Variations on a Rococo Theme” and Glazunov’s “Chanson du menéstrel” (French for “minstrel’s song.”)
Longtime symphony members Sharon Snel of Port Angeles and Judy Johnson of Port Ludlow are featured flutists during the performance of “Fantasia on Greensleeves” by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
Other selections on the program include “Christmas Canticles” by Sean O’Loughlin, the Polonaise from “Christmas Eve” by Rimsky-Korsakov, “Sleigh Ride” by Mozart, Humperdinck’s “Prayer and Dream Pantomime” from Hansel and Gretel, the overture from “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss Jr. and the “Radetzky March” by Johann Strauss Sr.
The orchestra also will accompany the audience during a carol singalong that will include “Joy to the World,” “Deck the Halls” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
Jonathan Paternack, the conductor, will host a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m.
• “Christmas Dreams” will continue its run of with performances at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays and a matinee performances at 2 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 22 on the main stage at the Port Angeles Community Playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for students at www.pacommunityplayers.org or at the box office.
The play, written by John Robertson and set in Depression-era Chicago, is a family story about betrayal and forgiveness told with realism, humor and love.
The cast includes Charlie Medlong, Melody Todnem, Daniel Brown, Ben Vanderheiden, Simon Close, Tara Dupont, Rick Mischke and Belle Robinson.
• Second Saturday Art Walk will feature receptions at Harbor Art Gallery and Studio Bob in downtown Port Angeles.
— Harbor Art Gallery, 114 N. Laurel St., will host a reception for its Holiday Show from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
The annual show, which features small works in a range of media by its member artists, will be on display throughout December.
Harbor Art Gallery has showcased the work of its member artists in downtown Port Angeles for 18 years.
“There’s something here for everyone,” said Bob Stokes, the gallery’s founder.
In addition to Art Walk, the gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
— Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front Street, will host a reception for its second Bring Your Own Blacklight Art Show, “Glow with the Flow,” from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. Saturday.
The reception will feature house music, blacklight games, ornament decorating activities and art submitted by local artists.

• The Wild Rose Chorale will present holiday concerts at 7 tonight and at 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Taylor St., Port Townsend.
Admission is by a suggested donation of $20.
The a cappella ensemble will perform a variety of quirky but familiar Christmas songs, winter melodies and even some tunes without lyrics.
“The songs represent an amazing variety, everything from a jazzy ‘Jingle Bell Rock,’ to the lush ‘Spotless Rose,’ to a wordless, energetic number called ‘Pulse,’” said Leslie Lewis, the director. “It’s fun to be on the cutting edge of presenting scores published in 2024.”
The singers also will perform “Gloria,” published earlier this year by a 22-year-old senior at the University of North Texas.
They also will perform a medley of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker,” a classical piece most audiences will recognize.
Although Wild Rose usually performs without instruments, Ruth Kittleson, on harp, and Otto Smith, on concertina, will accompany one song, and they will be joined by a bell choir on a 2024 version of “I Heard the Bells.”
• The 1922 film “Nosferatu” will be shown at 7 tonight at Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front St. in Port Angeles.
Admission is $5 at the door or $25 for the screening and a copy of the limited-edition graphic novel of the same name.
The novel, created by graphic novelist Narwhal, is being reissued for the screening.
The film will be shown with a new soundtrack by the Russian shoegaze band Blankenberge.

• The Alias Brass Company will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place, Port Ludlow.

The brass quintet plays a variety of musical genres, including baroque, classical, jazz and pop.
The group was formed in 2013 and its current members are trumpeters T.J. Tesh and John Bahatiam, trombonist Tim Dueppen, Natalie Higgins on horn and Clay Maddox on tuba.
The concert is part of Port Ludlow Performing Arts’ 2024-2025 season. Other performers include The Wardens on Feb. 22, The Paperboys on March 19 and the Barbra Lica Quintet on April 26.
Proceeds from the concert series will benefit music education in local public schools.
• Blake McCabe will host Blacklight Bingo from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front St., Port Angeles.

• The Friends of the Sequim Library will conduct a book sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Friends’ storefront location at Rock Plaza, 10175 Old Olympic Highway, Sequim.
The sale will feature Christmas-themed books and some books on quilting and knitting.
The sale also will feature a $1 bag sale in the annex area beginning at noon.
• Olympic Community Action Programs will host Glo-Bowling from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Laurel Lanes, 108 W. Eighth St., Port Angeles.

Attendees will be able to enjoy free hot cider and view the art and jewelry in the gallery while they wait.

• The Gender Sexuality Alliance Club at Sequim High School will host a free screening of “Home Alone” after a meet and greet with Santa at 6:30 tonight in the auditorium at Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim.
Proceeds from concession sales and any donations will benefit The Answer for Youth, a Port Angeles-based nonprofit that helps youth and young adults overcome life barriers by providing resources such as basic needs, housing support and employment opportunities.
• The Farmers’ Craft Fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The fair, conducted by the Salish Sea Makers Market, will be at Chimacum Grange, 9572 Rhody Drive, Chimacum.
In addition to a group of artists and makers from around the area, there will be a local coffee roaster.
Attendees will be able to enjoy warm drinks, hot fresh doughnuts, live music and holiday shopping.
• The 37th Chimacum Arts and Crafts Fair will open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The annual fair will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road, Chimacum.
The fair will feature more than 95 artisans selling jewelry, handcrafted home decor, textiles, wreaths, pottery, woodwork and original art.
Additionally, youth and community groups will raise funds for their programs, including 4H clubs, The Gathering Place and the Rotary’s annual pictures with Santa.
The fair also will offer the Kids Christmas Shop, where kids can shop independently of their grownups in a supported environment.
The culinary arts class from Chimacum High School will serve hot soup and grilled sandwiches out of their FEED Truck.
The truck, which debuted at last year’s fair, is the state’s first student-run food truck enterprise.
All proceeds will benefit unfunded programs within the community, ensuring that students have access to enriching educational experiences.
Proceeds from past fairs have been invested in sports uniforms, art supplies, field trips, library collections, weight room equipment, teen center programs and school gardens.
• The Kindred Holiday Market will be open from 3 to 7 tonight and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The market will be in the Home Arts Building at the Clallam County Fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles.
Admission is $5 on Friday with a $2 discount for a non-perishable food donation for the Port Angeles Food Bank.
Entry is free on Saturday, and kids younger than 18 will be admitted for free both days.
The market will feature more than 30 local makers, vintage vendors and small businesses.
There also will be warm drinks and treats for the whole family.
