Fifth Street Community Garden includes self-guided tour

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Master Gardeners have opened a new self-guided tour at the Fifth Street Community Garden.

The tour, which will be available through Friday, May 21, features new focus sites that highlight what is happening, or should be happening, in area vegetable gardens.

Attendees will learn how to deal with pea leaf weevils and how to protect fruits and vegetables with vertical garden constructions.

All of the tour’s focus sites highlight which vegetables grow well in this climate, what needs to be done in vegetable gardens and what control measures exist for pests and diseases common to this area.

For more information, call the county extension at 360-565-2679.
