Finalists named for EDC awards

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam Economic Development Council will honor community members in three categories on March 15 during a gala for the annual Clallam County EDC Champion Awards.

The gala will be from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 15 at Field Arts & Events Hall at 201 W. Front St., Port Angeles,.

It is sold out.

The winners in each category will be announced at the gala.

The finalists are:

• Olympic Leader of the Year — Beth Pratt, executive director of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce, Paul Jarkiewicz, executive director of the Port of Port Angeles, and Sean Coleman, Lincoln Park BMX Track president and track operator.

• Business of the Year — Lumber Traders Inc., the parent company of Hartnagel Building Supply and Angeles Millwork, Olympic Electric Company; Sequim Medical Associates, and Radio Pacific, the parent company of Newsradio KONP.

• Nonprofit of the Year — Habitat For Humanity of Clallam County, Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Education Foundation and The Society of St. Vincent De Paul, St. Joseph Conference, Sequim.

The keynote speaker will be Jen Mueller, a television and radio sports broadcast journalist from Seattle.

Also during the gala will be the installation of the 2024 Clallam EDC board of directors.

The platinum sponsor is First Fed.
