Singer-songwriter to perform Sunday at Concerts in the Woods

COYLE — Singer-songwriter Kim Richey will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday at Concerts in the Woods.

The concert will be at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road in Coyle.

Tickets are with a suggested donation of $20.

Richey has released 10 albums in the last two decades. Her album “Glitter” was listed in Time Magazine’s “Top 10 Albums of 1999” and her album “Rise” was named “Alt-Country Album of the Year” by People Magazine.

Richey’s music combines folk, country, blues, roots and gospel.

Richey wrote the No. 1 hits “Nobody Wins” for Radney Foster and “Believe Me Baby” for Trisha Yearwood, garnering a Grammy nomination for the latter.

She has written songs for Mary Chapin Carpenter, Gretchen Peters, Patty Loveless, Jamie Lawson, Brooks and Dunn and Jim Lauderdale.
