Six “Autumn Blaze” maple trees were planted Tuesday between Taylor and Tyler streets as part of Port Townsend’s Water Street Enhancement Project.

Rusty Sage of Sage Landscaping in Sequim delivers a load of soil as Smokey Simmons shovels it out of the bucket.

The trees will reach maturity in about 6-10 years and reach 25 feet.

The power poles and lines that are currently above will disappear in a year or two as all utilities have been moved underground.
