Port Angeles teachers awarded continuing education grants

PORT ANGELES — The Beta Nu Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International has given five Port Angeles School District teachers grants for continuing education.

Dorothea French, president of the chapter, awarded the grants May 22.

Port Angeles educators receiving awards are Karen Doran, Roosevelt Elementary, $475 National Board Certification; Tiffinny Blore, Roosevelt Elementary, $475 National Board Certification; Heather Titterness, Roosevelt Elementary, $3,000, master’s degree; Britney Martin, Dry Creek Elementary, $1,624 master’s degree; and Susan Heyer, Port Angeles School District, $1,995 National Board Certification.

As noted on its website, www.betanuchapter.com, Beta Nu awards grants “to professional educators in Clallam and Jefferson County schools — at any level — working for professional improvement or development of their classroom teaching skills.”
