FORKS — A full weekend of celebrating the fictional vampires and werewolves in the Twilight saga ends today with a birthday party for a vampire-human hybrid child.

Renesmee’s Birthday Party will be at Miller Tree Inn, 654 E. Division St., at 11 a.m. today. Admission is free.

Renesmee, known as “Nessie,” is the child of human Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen in the novels written by Stephenie Meyer and set in Forks.

The party will be hosted by Renesmee’s grandparents, Carlisle and Esme, portrayed by cosplay performers.

The 2014 Stephenie Meyer Days, which began Thursday evening with a Forks Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center open house, was expected to draw 1,000 visitors for Bella’s Birthday celebration Saturday, a bonfire at First Beach in LaPush on Friday and adventures with coven cosplay performers throughout.

The Twilight saga comprises four novels written by Meyer, and five movies based on the books, about a love triangle between Bella, the teenage daughter of the Forks police chief; the aloof vampire Edward; and the Quileute werewolf Jacob Black.

Today, activities will begin at 8 a.m. with the final day of geocaching and continue with a Wild in Forks Town Tour starting at 10 a.m. at Leppell’s “Twilight” Central at 130 Spartan Ave. and an 11 a.m. scavenger hunt costing $30 a team, also beginning at Leppell’s.

From 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., a panel with the Olympic Coven will be at Forks High School at 261 Spartan Ave.

From 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. will be Jacob’s Tour, starting at Leppell’s, which also will be the departure point for Bella’s Tour at 5 p.m., which will continue until 10 p.m.

A booth in downtown Forks has information on activities.
