Pick up trees

SEQUIM — Boy Scout Troop 1491 will pick up Christmas trees for recycling or disposal Friday and Saturday (Jan. 3-4).

The Scouts will take trees to Lazy J Tree Farm for recycling or flocked trees for disposal.

Donations for the service will go toward troop activities.

Chamber awards

SEQUIM — The Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for annual awards.

Each year, the chamber selects a Citizen of the Year as well as two awards for community service to recognize those who “have dedicated considerable time and energy to the community above and beyond the expectations of their job in 2013,” the chamber said.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 31.

Awards will be presented Feb. 25.
