The Makah Tribal Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday morning to discuss the possibility of developing a Boys & Girls Club of America clubhouse in Neah Bay.

The program provides after-school activities, mentoring and tutoring for children.

The only other Boys & Girls Club on the North Olympic Peninsula is based in Sequim with a unit in Port Angeles.

The Tulalip tribe in Marysville has the only reservation in Washington state to host a Boys & Girls Club. Throughout the United States, nearly 100,000 children participate in 77 Native American, Native Hawaiian, and Native Alaskan Boys & Girls Club units.

Wednesday’s discussion meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the Makah Tribal Council Chamber on Resort Drive in Neah Bay.
