Sports: Port Townsend girls eliminated from state tourney

YAKIMA — The Port Townsend High School girls basketball team ended its run in the Class 2A state tournament Friday with a 49-26 loss to Cascade.

The Redskins went 1-2 at the tournament, held at the Yakima SunDome, and did not place.

Their opening win over Chewelah last Wednesday was their first in four state trips under head coach John Stroeder.

Port Townsend was making its third consecutive state appearance.
