Joyce: “Daze” royalty to be picked tonight

Two local girls will be named 2003 Joyce Daze royalty tonight to reign over the Aug. 2 festival highlighting blackberries and the rural community.

Five girls — Nicole Buie, Emily Johnson, Bailey Marsh, Rebecca Strong and Laura Walters — are vying for the title of queen and princess, who will also represent Joyce in festivals throughout the Olympic Peninsula.

Royalty will be cround during today’s 6:30 p.m. monthly community potluck at Crescent Grange, 50734 Highway 112.

The potluck will also include a presentation on Germany by exchange student Christine Uhlmann, who is staying with Mel and Peggy Kempf.

There will also be a silent auction.
