PORT ANGELES — Lincoln Theatre officials announced Wednesday that the historic cinema will remain open, at least until August.

The decision follows last month’s announcement that the 575-seat, three-screen movie house would close this Sunday — Mother’s Day.

Theater operations owner, Sun Basin Theaters of Wenatchee, cited a lease dispute with the building owner as the reason for the pending closure.

But that was before Port Angeles Economic Development Director Tim Smith helped negotiate the 90-day lease extension.
