LETTER: Dexter has experience, education for Port Angeles

I’m voting for Kate Dexter.

When I think about the Port Angeles City Council candidates as job applicants, the choice is clear.

I choose Kate because she is formally educated in public policy and understands the job of the City Council, according to her website.

I would not hire a doctor to fix my car, nor an auto technician to take out my appendix.

I take the choice seriously because the council oversees the spending of my tax dollars and will chart our joint progress to a better future.

I want our council to embrace the interests of our worker bees, both public and private, businesses large and small and all citizens, male and female.

Her website, www.dexterforcouncil.com, shows me that from an early age, Kate has been a public contributor.

As a mother of two, she has demonstrated community involvement by her leadership of the Franklin School Parent-Teachers Organization.

In public and in person, she is articulate and forthright.

Her dedication to the well-being of our children and empathy for all citizens without regard to their social or economic status is apparent to me from her history.

Vote Kate.

Bill Atkinson,

Port Angeles
