Tranco 12U softball wins a pair of games
Tranco beat PA Power 17-2 in 12U softball action this weekend.
Tranco ‘s Lily Halberg and Grace Roening both went 3 for 3 with two doubles and a single in Saturday’s win. Teagan Clark added two hits with a single and a double. Maryrose Halberg, Abby Frank, Tatum Moses, and Lillie Commerree all added one base hit each.
On the mound, Roening pitched three innings, while Clark and Halberg pitched an inning each, with Halberg making her Majors debut. Tranco pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts.

For PA Power, Ali Money had one base hit, while Carlee Dewater and Ali Money each scored a run. Isabella Felton pitched all four innings and earned 2 strikeouts.
Tranco’s record is now 6-0.
Earlier in the week, Tranco scored seven runs in the first two innings in a win over Boulevard Wellness.
Grace Roening led the way for Tranco by hitting three doubles and scoring three runs.
Zoe Smithson added three hits for Tranco and Lily Halberg, Teagan Clark and Tianna Clark
Lily Halberg, Teagan Clark and Tianna Clark added two singles apiece in the win.
Roening and Teagan Clark each tossed six strikeouts.
Boulevard pitcher Jenna McGoff struck out six and had the team’s lone base hit, a double.
Paint and Carpet Barn
PORT ANGELES — Paint and Carpet Barn picked up a pair of 12U softball wins, edging Boulevard Wellness 4-3 and doubling up P.A. Power Equipment 10-5.
Against Boulevard, Destiny Smith (six) and Emily Reid (five) combined to strike out 11 batters.
Aubree Herbet recorded her first hits at the 12U level, going 3 for 3 with a double and a run. Julia McDonald and Raylyn Asher-Titterness also had their first hits for Paint and Carpet.
Katelynn Glass went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the Barners and teammates Jaylynn Hofer singled and scored twice and Emily Reid singled.
Natalie Robinson led Boulevard with a pair of hits and RBIs. Sara Cameron singled and scored and Jenna McGoff and Kylie Weed had hits.
Reid held P.A. Power to four hits and a walk while striking out eight. She also had two hits, an RBI and a run.
Smith went 2 for 3 and scored three times while Glass had two hits, a run and a pair of RBIs. Hofer had a two-run single, Ciara Cargo-Acosta singled and scored and Claire Osterberg got her first hit and scored.
Linsdey Groff struck out eight for P.A. Power.
Lily Scheid was 2 for 2 and scored twice while Isabelle Felton singled and scored and Ali Money drove home a run and scored.
Eagles get past Local
PORT ANGELES — Eagles edged Local 155 10-9 in Cal Ripken Majors baseball action.
A seven-run fifth inning put Eagles up 10-7. Easton Merritt led Eagles offensively with a double and a triple in the team’s fourth straight win.
Elijah Flodstrom had two doubles for Local 155 and Alex Angevine pitched three innings allowing three runs.
First Federal wins
PORT ANGELES — First Federal edged Athletes’ Choice 9-8 in Olympic Junior Babe Ruth baseball action.
Derek Dunaway went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and a stolen base for First Federal.
Seth Mann and Jacob Felton each went 2 for 4 and Damon Ringold brought home the game-winning RBI in the top of the seventh.
Seth Woods got the win on the mound after giving up a run in two innings of work.
Tanner Walker was 2 for 2 with a walk and scored runs for Athletes’ Choice.
Kamron Meadows went 2 for 2 with three RBIs.
Walker, Meadows and Sean Hanrahan combined to allow two runs on four hits in five innings.
Lions stop Hi-Tech
PORT ANGELES —Lions pitchers allowed just three hits in a 3-1 Cal Ripken League win over Hi-Tech.
Elisha Dujue’ earned the win for Lions. He threw three innings, allowing one run on one hit and one walk while striking out nine.
Lions took an early lead in the first inning when Rylan Politika drew a walk and was sac bunted to second by Payton King. Dujue’ then singled on a 0-2 count in the first inning, driving in Politika.
Lions took the lead for good when Cole Beeman scored on a passed ball in the second inning.
Dujue’ and Beeman had the only base hits for Lions.
Kayden McVaugh led Hi-Tech with two hits in two at bats. John Vaara pitched 4-1/3 innings for Hi-Tech and only gave up two hits.
Kiwanis keeps winning
PORT ANGELES — Kiwanis won a pair of 16U softball games last week, a 16-2 triumph over KONP and a 10-9 win against ILWU.
Amaris Martinez and Aiesha Mathis hit inside-the-park home runs for Kiwanis.
Mathis also had an RBI double that scored Abby Root. Root had reached base with her first-ever hit, a double.
Molly Braster hit a two-run double and Isabelle Cottam struck out three batters to close the game for Kiwanis.
Against ILWU, Jada Cargo-Acosta cranked an RBI double to left field in the bottom of the fifth inning for the eventual game-winning run.
Cargo-Acosta also picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle.
