RENTON — Quilcene will be well represented on the CenturyLink Field sidelines during Sunday’s Seattle Seahawks-Dallas Cowboys football game.

Megan Weller, a junior right-side hitter on the Quilcene High School volleyball team, has been selected as the Week Five CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week.

She was selected based on her dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership, and athletic performance.

Weller has maintained a 3.986 grade point average while serving in multiple leadership positions for her school.

She is a two-time class president and served as both a secretary in 2012 and the vice president for the Quilcene High School National Honor Society in 2013.

She is a Mathlete and received the American Association of University Women Port Townsend branch’s math award.

Weller is a three-sport athlete for Quilcene, captaining the Rangers’ volleyball and softball teams.

She was voted team MVP of last season’s Quilcene basketball team and was named to the Peninsula Daily News’ All-Peninsula girls basketball team.

Weller also was selected to the All-Sea-Tac League first team.

She also participates in 4H.

As the CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week, Weller also will be recognized with an assembly at Quilcene High School at 11:40 a.m. Friday.

She will receive a $1,200 gift card supported by Sports Authority from CenturyLink and the Seahawks for the Quilcene Athletic Department, in addition to tickets and sideline passes to the Seahawks-Cowboys game, and a customized Seahawks jersey.

The program is sponsored by the Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink Inc., Q13 FOX and Sports Authority.
