GYMNASTICS: Port Angeles/Sequim gymnasts hang tough with Bainbridge

BAINBRIDGE — The Port Angeles/Sequim gymnastics team competed against Bainbridge this weekend, with several area gymnasts placing in their events.

Overall, the team competed well with 3A Bainbridge, getting nipped by the Spartans 158.25 to 141.4.

Scarlett Sullivan was second on the bars with a 6.65, fifth in the vault with an 8.35, sixth in the floor with an 8.75, finishing fourth overall with 31.05.

Lucy Spelker was fifth overall with 31.0. She was fifth in the floor exercise with an 8.95 and seventh in the vault with an 8.15.

Sequim’s Susannah Sharp was sixth overall with 29.45. She was third in the vault with an 8.4 and third in the floor with a 9.05.

The gymnasts will next compete at home at Klahhane Gymnastic Center at 1 p.m. Saturday against North Kitsap and Kingston.
