Cole Baysinger

Cole Baysinger

Forks football player Cole Baysinger has the distinction of being our first two-time Athlete of the Week. And he deserves it.

Baysinger ran for 236 yards on 22 carries against King’s Way Christian Friday, scoring five touchdowns. One of his touchdowns was on an 86-yard run.

That performance followed a week one effort of 230 yards and four TDs (three rushing and one receiving) against Vashon. So far this season, Baysinger has rushed for 466 yards and scored an astounding nine TDs.

Baysinger’s Vashon performance caught the eye of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, which named him the 1A Athlete of the Week for all of Washington.

Baysinger was also named an Athlete of the Week for his track and field exploits in the spring.

Athlete of the Week is brought to you by the sports department at the Peninsula Daily News along with the sponsorship of Swain’s General Store serving Clallam and Jefferson counties since 1957.
