AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Salazar Painting, Forks FC remain perfect in adult league soccer

PORT ANGELES — Just two weeks into the Peninsula Soccer League season, only two of the 10 adult coed recreation teams remain unscathed.

Salazar Painting improved to 2-0 with a 12-0 romp over Los Primos, led by Edgar Aceves, Jose Vladimir and Raul Medina, who scored two goals each.

Forks FC also opened the 2023 season 2-0 and also by a wide margin, stopping Bandidos FC 9-0. Gabriel Julio and Tony Flores each scored twice to lead that rout.

High Energy Metals rebounded from their season-opening setback with a thrilling 4-3 win over Pantry & Latch. Noah Brasher, Aldo Garcia, Nick Allen and Jake Hughes all scored for High Energy. Ben Stanley had a goal for Panty & Latch.

Pura Vida joined High Energy Metals at 1-0-1 following a 5-5 draw with Strait Slice Pizza. Javier Gomez scored twice and Mikai Ashby, Juan Gonzalez and Rafa Flores had the other goals for Pura Vida. Sam Haven, Jimmy Quigley and Zack Gray scored for Strait Slice.

Windermere improved to 1-1-0 with an 8-0 shutout over Ediz Hook FC. Caim Valles had a hat trick, while Luke Angevine and Tom Fordham each scored a pair of goals and Josh Boe added another goal for Windermere.
