AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: PA’s Leia Larson winner of women’s Rhody Run Redux 5K

PORT TOWNSEND — Updated results from the Rhody Run Redux showed that Port Angeles middle school student Leia Larson was the winner of Sunday’s women’s 5K race.

Larson won in a time of 22 minutes, 46.94 seconds. Another person was originally listed as the 5K winner in the official race results posted online, but it turns out she was a volunteer and her bib was recorded by the timing equipment.

Larson also won the most recent Elwha Bridge 5K and the Sequim Railroad Bridge 5K. Her older sibling Lauren Larson won the Rhody Run Redux 10K.
