AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: MGI softball to hold tryouts, Klahhane registration and more

PORT ANGELES — MGI softball tryouts will be held on June 25-26 at the Lincoln Park fields.

Players aged 15-18 can try out from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on June 25, and players 11 to 14 can try out from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. June 26.

Ages are based on the players’ age as of Dec. 31, 2024.

Klahhane registration

PORT ANGELES — Registration is open for Summer classes at Klahhane Gymnastics for age 3½ to grade eight.

Classes will be held Monday through Thursday from June 24 through Aug. 15. All registration is in person and some classes already have limited space.

Registration times are Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Wednesday to June 20. Additional information, including class times, current availability and pricing, is posted on the Klahhane Facebook page. People can join a class and select the days and times to create a custom schedule for their young athlete.

Pitch, hit and run

PORT ANGELES — There will be a pitch, hit and run event at Civic Field on June 24 hosted by the Port Angeles Lefties West Coast League team. Boys and girls from ages 7 to 14 can test their pitching, hitting and running skills beginning at 10 a.m. and will get the chance to move on to further rounds. Champions go to the pitch, hit and run at the World Series.

PA XPlosion

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles XPlosion softball program will hold tryouts at 10 a.m. July 13 at Lincoln Park in Port Angeles. There will be tryouts for a 14-and-under team and a 12-and-under team. For more information, call or text 360-775-0027 or 360-461-3369.
