AREA SPORTS BRIEF: Crescent girls basketball team struggles in second half

JOYCE — The Crescent girls basketball team struggled in the second half against Shoreline Christian, losing Saturday 43-25.

The Loggers had a 19-16 lead going into halftime after a good start to the game.

“After a good battle in the first halfmthe Loggers ran out of gas in the second half,” said coach Jonathan Whitehead.

“Shoreline adjusted well to our offensive attack and really took over in the third quarter. Playing two physical games back to back really wore our girls down, and it showed in the fourth quarter,” Whitehead said.

Crescent (1-3) next plays at 5:15 p.m. Thursday against the Sequim C team.
