SEKIU — Olson’s Resort, one of the oldest sport-fishing resorts and marinas on the North Olympic Peninsula, is for sale at eBay.com, the Internet sales and auction Web site.
Asking price: $3.85 million.
Owners Arlen and Donalynn Olson are well within retirement age, and she says they are getting too old to run the 20-acre landmark.
It’s been a family-owned business since 1936, with all the bells and whistles for salmon and halibut fishing on the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Donalynn says the eBay advertisement has received some interest.
“We’ve had a lot of hits and some inquiries,” she says.
The resort has a 14-unit motel, dozens of RV spaces and acres of campsites, a handful of cabins and houses, a huge marina with transient moorage, and a well-equipped main store and office.
In addition, this resort has perhaps the most unique feature of any Northwestern commercial property — its own breakwater, constructed over many years by the Olson family, which would cost millions of dollars to build these days.
The breakwater is more than 1,000 feet in length and shelters the entire marina.
