PORT TOWNSEND — “Women & Film,” the Port Townsend Film Festival event to unfold this weekend, brings together nine films produced by women, all screening in the two auditoriums at the Rose Theatre, 235 Taylor St.
The movies range from “Riding My Way Back,” Robin Fryday’s story of an Iraq War veteran recovering with equine therapy, to “Get Together Girls,” Vanessa Crocini’s look at how education is helping former street girls in Ngong, Kenya.
Passes to the whole festival are $65 via www.ptfilmfest.com or by phoning the film festival office at 360-379-1333 by 5 p.m. today.
Susan Sontag, directors
Included in all passes is Saturday’s 7 p.m. screening of “Regarding Susan Sontag,” followed by a round-table discussion with seven female directors, all at the Northwest Maritime Center, 431 Water St.
Many of the other screenings will include question-and-answer sessions with the filmmakers.

If seats are available Saturday and Sunday, $15 rush tickets to the various screenings will be available 15 minutes before show time for each of the movies except “Regarding Susan Sontag,” which is for pass holders only.
Here’s the schedule of films to screen at the Rose Theatre unless otherwise noted:
Saturday
■ 10 a.m. — “War Within Walls,” Courtney Marsh’s short film about Chau, a 16-year-old boy living in a Vietnamese peace camp; also, “Pink Smoke Over the Vatican,” Jules Hart’s documentary about 100 women ordained as priests in the Roman Catholic Church since 2002.
■ 10:15 a.m. — “Riding My Way Back,” with director Fryday in attendance, plus “Hidden Pictures,” Delaney Ruston’s film about people and families coping with mental illness.
■ 1 p.m. — “Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard Round the World,” Dana Nachman’s film about a little boy’s Make-A-Wish story that went viral on social media.
■ 1:15 p.m. — “The Vessel,” Diana Whitten’s story of the women who take abortion services to the high seas, out of the reach of the law.
■ 7 p.m. — Northwest Maritime Center: “Regarding Susan Sontag,” Nancy Kates’ feature film about the literary and feminist icon, followed by the Women & Film Roundtable with moderator Lauralee Farrer and all directors.
Sunday
■ 10 a.m. — “Farah Goes Bang,” Meera Menon’s movie about a 20-year-old hitting the campaign trail with two of her best friends.
■ 10:15 a.m. — “Get Together Girls,” with director Crocini via Skype, plus “World Fair,” Amanda Murray’s look at the 1939 New York World’s Fair, held amid the Great Depression.
■ 1 p.m. — “Symphony of the Soil,” Deborah Koons Garcia’s documentary about Earth’s topmost layer, filmed on four continents.
■ 1:15 p.m. — “I Am Eleven,” Genevieve Bailey’s documentary of childhood featuring interviews with girls and boys from 15 countries.
