Special Mother’s Day events are planned all across the North Olympic Peninsula.
Activities are both Saturday and Sunday.

FORKS
Flower basket sale
FORKS — The annual Mother’s Day Forks Alternative School Plant and Hanging Basket Sale is set from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The sale will be at the Forks High School auto shop.
The auto shop is across from the Peninsula College Extension site, which is at 481 S. Forks Ave.
The students have made hanging baskets as Mother’s Day gifts.
Proceeds will go toward an end-of-the-year field trip to Point Defiance Zoo.
Mother’s Day breakfast
FORKS — The Forks Elks Lodge will host its annual Mother’s Day breakfast at the lodge, 941 Merchants Road, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday.
Admission is $8 for those 12 and older, $6 for seniors and children 5-11; children 4 and younger will be admitted free.
The traditional buffet will include ham, sausage, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, French toast, juice and coffee.
Proceeds will benefit the Elks Therapy for Children program.
JOYCE
Lions Club breakfast
JOYCE — The Crescent Bay Lions Club will offer its last breakfast of the season Sunday.
Each mother attending the Mother’s Day breakfast will receive a flower.
The breakfast will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the club on state Highway 112 at Holly Hill Road.
The cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and younger.
The menu includes eggs cooked to order, hot cakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns and ham, sausage or bacon.
PORT ANGELES
Mother’s Day brunch
PORT ANGELES — The Elks Naval Lodge will host a Mother’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
The brunch will be at the lodge at 131 E. First St.
The cost is $16 per person, with half-price for mothers and those younger than 10.

Kids’ workshops
PORT ANGELES — Angeles Millwork & Lumber Co., 1601 S. C St., and Hartnagel Building Supply, 3111 E. U.S. Highway 101, are offering free workshops from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
Children are invited to plant flowers in pots to take home for their moms for Mother’s Day.
Plants, potting soil and peat pots will be provided at no charge.
Supplies are limited to the first 100 children at each store.

TAFY flower sale
PORT ANGELES — TAFY (The Answer For Youth) will hold a Mother’s Day flower sale at 833 E. Front St. and 1016 E. First St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Saturday.
Cedar planter boxes filled with plants — arranged and planted by Wayne Roedell — are for sale.
Prices range from $20 to $40.
Proceeds will go to purchasing supplies for homeless and at-risk youths and young families in the community.
SEQUIM
Mother’s Day brunch
SEQUIM — The Sequim Elks Lodge will host a Mother’s Day brunch for the public at 143 Port Williams Road from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, with those younger than 5 admitted free of charge.
Scrambled eggs, link sausage, fried potatoes, fresh fruit, orange juice, waffles with strawberries and champagne will be offered.
PORT TOWNSEND
Mother’s Day swim
PORT TOWNSEND — A free afternoon “Second Sunday” Mother’s Day swim will be held at the Mountain View Pool, 1919 Blaine St., from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
All ages are welcome. Children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult in the pool.
Each free “Second Sunday” family swim is sponsored by a local business.
The YMCA is offering free shuttle bus service for this event from Brinnon and Quilcene.

Garden tours set
PORT LUDLOW — Chimacum Woods will offer free Mother’s Day garden tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Tours will be of the 7-acre rhododendron woodland garden at the nursery at 2722 Thorndyke Road.
Visitors can ask rhody questions and enjoy conversation with other gardeners.
